Palestine and the ICC.

Why would joining the International Criminal Court be regarded as a bad thing? If there is a degree of unity between Fatah and Hamas, wouldn’t it mean that and Hamas members would be open to prosecution for war crimes too? I thought that would be a good thing.

It seems not. The prosecution of Hamas, whom they claim to be responsible for countless crimes has created a very strange response from Israel. They froze 127 million dollars worth of tax revenue it collects for Palestine. Why they collect tax for the Palestinians yet deny being occupiers is beyond me, the same as every birth and death has to be registered to Israeli authorities by Palestinians. Anyhow, I digress. It seems that Israel’s major gripe about ICC membership is because they fear IDF soldiers twill be ‘dragged to the Hague’. Yes, I know, Israeli hypocrisy is breathtaking.
